An intersectional gender perspective is central to seeing and understanding the world as it actually is. Without it, our clouded vision leaves women and marginalized groups at a disadvantage, and disproportionally affected by disasters.
Much like a pair of glasses, a gender perspective allows us to see more clearly and look beyond the gender norms and stereotypes that, often unconcsiously, strongly affect and guide our work and our lives.
With this course, we offer you a glimpse into key aspects of an intersectional gender perspective and show how it connects to gender analysis. We also provide suggestions on where you can find more information to deepen your understanding on the topic.
Expected time requirement: 15-20 minutes.
